Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released via Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music via the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. Her uploads continued music online in 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, at Sweat It out in July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the season, the music circulated throughout Dreamville. Her contract was signed officially by Dreamville Records on 8 December. She appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. She dropped Pho, her debut EP, on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, she released 13 two singles that were titled No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16, then dropped the song as a solo single for the album she released her debut. A music video came out on the 20th February of 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, it was watched by more than 3,000,000 people. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
