Finch began playing softball young as the age of 5. Doug Finch was Jennie's very first pitching teacher. He created the Finch Windmill which was a arm conditioning device that Jennie started using when she was 10 years old. As a high schooler, she threw six no-hitters as well as 13 games that were perfect. Her next stop was University of Arizona. University of Arizona where she was an All-American three times as well as a first baseman.
